Coastal Bend Council of the Blind

Annual Scholarship and Awards Luncheon

Reserve your seating at this special luncheon of the American Council of the Blind. This special event will be held at the Holiday Inn Emerald Beach, 1102 S. Shoreline Blvd., Corpus Christi, Texas. The event is on August 20, 2010 from 10 AM to 2 PM. Tickets are $25.00. For reservations, contact Molly Rodriguez at 361-687-5129. Molly is the president of the Coastal Bend Council of the Blind, a sub-chapter of ACB Texas, which falls under the national organization of the American Council of the Blind.

Background:

Each year this chapter holds a special luncheon to recognize blind students who have achieved academic excellence and to award them scholarships to help pave their way financially. The luncheon also provides an opportunity to recognize and provide awards to others who have tirelessly provided contributions in the form of time, money or other forms that serve to benefit the blind community.

The luncheon will feature Ginger Kraft who will speak on "Changing the Infrastructure of a Community through Education"
