Houston Council of the Blind
The Houston Council of the Blind, located in Houston, Texas
is a chapter of the American Council of the Blind of Texas which
is an affiliate of the parent organization, The American Council of the Blind.
The Houston Council of the Blind was organized January 27, 1978 with 18 members.

Meeting Time and Place: The Houston Council of the Blind meetings generally
occur on the first Sunday of each month from 2PM to 4PM. The meetings are held
at the Houston Lighthouse, located at 3602 West Dallas, Houston, Texas. Please
use entrance #2.
There are exceptions to the meetings being held on the first Sunday. The January
meeting may be held on the second Sunday depending on the New Year Holiday and
the September meeting is held on the second Sunday due to Labor Day. There is no
meeting in July. In place of the December meeting, HCB holds an annual Christmas
Party on the first Sunday in December. The location of the party varies and will
be announced.
The chapter has a newsletter called The Beacon. The Dec. 2011 issue is available
